Tagra’s microencapsulation technology can entrap non-water-soluble ingredients, which are in the form of a liquid or solid.

Tagra’s patented technology is based on a physical process that does not affect the chemical properties of the encapsulated material. We create two types of microcapsules for cosmetics: RNDTM (Release on Demand) Breakable Microcapsules and Unbreakable Microcapsules.

Tagra’s unique RND™ technology (Release on Demand) results in microcapsules which break only after being triggered by a rubbing action on the skin. It enables optimal protection from environmental risk factors, preventing diffusion of the encapsulated material, and breakage during production, giving you consistent, dependable results.

Tagra’s encapsulations are unique in their ability to maintain integrity during production, and they stay cohesive until application. Performance in the lab is what you see in manufacturing,

with no special equipment required. Tagra controls every parameter of the production process to ensure the quality of its products including its physical stability, allowing our customers to easily produce their finished products. Tagra’s microcapsules can survive the pressure associated with mixing, pumping, and filling.

Generally, the breakable microcapsules (CameleonCaps™, CelluCaps™, CelluOil™, Cameleon CelluCaps™) should be gradually added at the last stage of formulation preparation, using a simple paddle mixer, below 50C*.

The unbreakable microcapsules (SunCaps™ and CarbonCap™) can be added in any stage of the formulation process using a homogenizer. Either cold or hot processes are acceptable.

* CameleonCaps™ can be used in the hot pour process during cooling stage and can resist high temperatures of 80°C-90°C for a short period of time.

Tagra’s microcapsules can be incorporated into various formulations such as o/w, w/o, water gels, serums, silicone-based products, sticks, pressed and loose powders. Tagra’s microcapsules can withstand a broad pH range.

No. All Tagra’s products are micron size and considered to be non-nano.

We first recommend choosing the relevant UV filters- either minerals, organic, or a combination following a calculation of the theoretical SPF value, using the sunscreen simulator of BASF or DSM.

Based on this result one should convert the % of free UV filters to the equivalent % of SunCaps™.

In most cases, the in-vitro SPF value will be at least similar to the BASF simulator’s calculation or higher.
