Breakable Microcapsules

Tagra’s breakable microcapsules provide stable, efficient, controlled, and immediate release – for superior formulations. The encapsulation itself makes it possible to overcome incompatibilities between different ingredients comprising the formulation. Tagra has developed a patented method, RND™ Microencapsulation Technology, for non-water-soluble ingredients.

Tagra’s unique RND™ microcapsules enable optimal isolation and are impermeable, preventing diffusion of the encapsulated material into the formulation. In turn, the encapsulant is optimally protected from all environmental risk factors: light, temperature, pH, oxidation, and interaction with other ingredients. Although impermeable, the polymer shell is elastic in nature, and is easily ruptured upon application of mechanical pressure such as a rubbing action.

Unbreakable Microcapsules

Unbreakable microcapsules, in micron-size transparent shells, are made of cellulose-based polymers. The technology is unique in that the encapsulant remains functional, overcoming nano-issues like skin penetration and direct contact of the UV filters with the skin.

Both processes, unbreakable and the breakable microcapsules, do not involve chemical reactions, and as a result there is no risk of residual monomers or solvents.
